Free-for-All Friday

I know it's been a while since I posted. Life at the Ebersole's has been chaotic the past month.

We have had lacrosse games, Field Day, a college graduation, a graduation party, Memorial Day, lacrosse picnics, remodeling, the last few days of school...WHEW...I am exhausted! LOL!!

So I have a bunch of pictures and a few random thoughts, okay maybe a lot of random thoughts, but I am random, so it fits!

Aidan relaxing in the living room watching TV. He looks so comfy. His poison has cleared up rather nicely thanks to Fels Naptha soap & swimming!
Austin "1/4 Situation" Ebersole showing off his abs. Austin is as tall as I am now. He points that out to me daily. He has finals today and Monday. I can't believe he is going to high school next year.
Both of them engrossed in the television. It is one of the few times when they are not fighting.

Our bedroom modeling. We are going to put our bed on this wall once the carpet is installed.

Looking toward the back yard in our room.

The freaky weather yesterday morning. The sun was out right at our house, but across the road, looking at the mountain - CREEPY!!

Another shot of the foggy, grey overcastness (not a real word, I know) on the mountain.

Aidan getting his lacrosse trophy. Aidan was named Best All-Around Lacrosse Player on his team. He scores goals, plays defense & goalie. Gosh how I love this kid!
Pictures of Aidan's team getting their trophies.

More of Aidan's team. I must also say a huge thank you to Aidan's coach, Linda Bram. She is awesome! I couldn't ask for a better person to coach Aidan.
Water lily on our pond. Even through our unusually snowy weather. Our beautiful plant survived.

Well that's it for the randomness. Hopefully blogging will become more frequent this summer. Then again...maybe not!

Double Digit Birthday Party

My baby is 10 today. Hard to believe. All those times where I thought I was going to go crazy with the not sleeping and then screaming his little head off, having to cover his head with a blanket so he couldn't be nosy and look around avoiding sleep. All of those times when I almost threw in the motherhood towel - has been worth every minute.

He is strong-willed, stubborn, smart, witty, athletic, competitive..the list goes on and on.

We enjoy life with our sons, through the trials and tribulations we, as a family, get through.

Aidan is a one of a kind boy who always lives life to the fullest - and I wouldn't have him any other way.

So Happy Birthday ACE! Thank you for the joy you have brought to our lives and we look forward to all the things to come.

My New Endeavor

I have taken on a new project.

I must first say I have never been a "diary" or "journal" writer. I have every good intention of writing in one faithfully each day only to falter, forget to write and then give up entirely.

I am hoping that this new idea I have (after following a couple blogs) will provide a source of comfort for me and I will enjoy writing each day.

Today is Day One. I have three separate books to write in. I am not writing in each one every day, rather I will alternate which one I write in.

There may be days where I need to write in all of them, but I will not require that of myself. Too much pressure. What's that old saying? :Promise less, deliver more. Yadda, yadda, yadda.

So here they are. Letters to the ones I love, Bible verses, inspiring quotes. Little pieces of me, especially for them.

Aidan's Latest Art Projet

I'm going to start off this post by being selfish and saying "No! You may not have it!". Having said that, here is what "it" is.

Aidan brought home his pottery art project yesterday.

It is adorable. I mean - LOOK HOW CUTE HIS LION IS! Meep.

I think the rafia/curly jute (or whatever you call it) is fabulous.

I will have to thank his art teacher today because this is just one of those things that a mother will keep for years.

Spring=Goodness - and a few other things

Yesterday when I was walking out the door, I noticed a frog sitting on the edge of our fish pond.
It brought a smile to my face and also a little bit of dread...Spring is on its way. Am I really ready for this?

I think the reason I enjoy winter is because there is only so much you can do inside. I enjoy cleaning, but once the dusting and sweeping and de-cluttering has been done, all that is really left to do is cozy up on the couch and watch movies or maybe a family game night.

But when spring rolls around, it means that the cleaning not only needs to be done inside, but outside as well.

This year we need to plant grass seed, redo the flower beds, clean out the fish pond and I'm sure there are more things I just won't let myself think of right now.

And then there's the routine yard maintenance, mowing the grass, weeding the flower beds, the fish pond chemicals - ugh.

This year I will definitely enlist the help of our slave labor, I mean, sons. They can help with all of the chores this spring.

Aidan will probably love helping clean out the fish pond, and since our fish population took a hit this winter, he will probably be rewarded with a fish from the new pond store that opened up across the street from Jerry's shop.

And we have Austin in the palm of our hands. He loves having a cell phone, but Daddy and Mommy won't pay for it if he doesn't help around the house, so he doesn't need another reward. Just keep paying for that cell phone - he's all ours.

I need to look at the grand picture. A beautifully landscaped yard that we can sit out in and enjoy. A place for the boys to play lacrosse and run around in. The relaxing sound of water running in our fish pond.
Forget about all the work it's going to take to get there. It will be all worth it in the end.
